Robert Harper was a ghillie on the river Dee for 50 years, based at Lower Crathes and Birse. He has been described as the ideal ghillie, “relentless and selfless” in pursuit of conservation and last year he won the SGA Salmon Conservation Award and the Ronnie Rose Trophy for Conservation and Education.
