Charles Barclay, FRAS, is a professional outreach astronomer. He directed the Blackett Observatory in Wiltshire for 25 years. Retiring to Strathdon in 2023, he is an Associate Fellow of Green Templeton College, Oxford, served 2 terms on the Council of the Royal Astronomical Society and became Vice President (2017-2019). Charles was awarded the Royal Astronomical Society 2023 Service Award for his outstanding contribution to Astronomy education.
